A war hero. A general decorated and respected by all, especially after the end of the Second World War. A ... UFO witness?
General Douglas MacArthur was a very important military during World War II and is unanimously remembered as a true hero of the Pacific theater. Some even call him the most important military leader of the modern era.
So how is it possible that his name is associated with UFO sightings, aliens, hypotheses of interplanetary wars?
From 1942-1943 General Douglas MacArthur has witnessed many suspicious sightings, direct or indirect, as evidenced by many of his exchanges of views with other high-profile soldiers (first of all the famous General James Harold Doolittle). The sightings often occurred in the same way, with mysterious "spectators" who followed -without intervening- combat actions or simple exercises between warplanes. In some cases the military, considering the "visitors" as a threat, opened fire (for example in 1942, in the skies over Los Angeles, California), without getting any response: the unidentified objects simply disappeared quickly .
These episodes led General Douglas MacArthur to develop his own theory, according to which the peoples of the earth, in a not too distant future, should have united to face a common enemy, coming from space. According to the General, in fact, the alien threat would have been a very serious problem in a few years, certainly not to be underestimated.
Although often the sightings of UFOs and theories of interplanetary wars are not taken seriously, in this case the protagonist is a soldier of the highest profile, with access to secret documents - governmental and military - extremely confidential, therefore it is more than legitimate to have doubts and ask yourself questions about the plausibility of your theories.
MacArthur had the courage to pursue his theses and to speak publicly on several occasions, without paying any attention to any criticisms: a man who openly challenged President Truman, a man who personally coordinated Japan's transition to democracy, a man who has spent his whole life serving his country and US Army ... he was certainly not afraid to tell what he saw and say what he thought!
This story is told in books and stories for cinema and TV, however it remains in some ways shrouded in mystery. What we are left with is the testimony of a great man, who has certainly had extraordinary experiences in his life.
