Correlations between HAARP and Hurricane Katrina

Are the strange climatic events of the last few years related in any way to the HAARP program?

High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program. This is the meaning of the acronym HAARP, which gives its name to an installation built in 1993 in Alaska by the United States Government. The aims of HAARP are officially scientific and revolve around the study of the atmosphere and the ionosphere; another of the installation's functions relates to radio communications for military use.

Thanks to its numerous antennas, the HAARP system is in fact a transmitter that can send radio waves into the ionosphere, heating it and thus creating slight perturbations. The main purpose of the whole HAARP system should therefore be the study of the correlations between these perturbations and long distance radio communications.

So far there would seem to be nothing strange, however over the years numerous theories have been developed on its real function, many of which are based on the hypothesis that HAARP is an experiment in "weaponizing weather". These hypotheses, which probably derive from the real possibility of HAARP to heat the ionosphere, therefore push some people to believe that the climatic changes caused by HAARP are not only much more serious than declared by the official bodies but also deliberated and aimed at purposes that are nothing have to do with scientific research.

Some conspiracy theorists believe that the recent succession of extreme weather phenomena (floods, droughts, hurricanes) is attributable to a deliberate manipulation of the climate, perpetrated for military purposes. Some even went so far as to say that behind all this there is a secret plan for the reduction of the global population, such as in the case of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, which caused the worst damage in poor black communities. Others argue that Hurricane Katrina was staged to increase the cost of oil, therefore for reasons related to politics and economics.

The cost of an event like Hurricane Katrina, in both human and economic terms, is frightening:

  • the number of victims has been estimated at around 1800 units;
  • the overall economic loss was $ 108 billion dollars;
  • more than 80% of the cities affected by the phenomenon have been flooded;
  • in New Orleans alone the people blocked and unable to escape were around 60,000;

In addition to Hurricane Katrina, other climatic events have also been attributed to HAARP over the years, such as Hurricane Gustav but also earthquakes that have occurred in New Zealand, China and Haiti in the recent past. Although it is risky and probably unrealistic to think that these theories correspond to the truth, it is certainly fascinating and at the same time disturbing to know that man is actually able to act directly on the climate through technology.
