The version we all know about the origins of Homo sapiens, since the school years is the one linked to evolutionary theory. Today, however, there are those who believe that our ancestors had a "little help" from visitors from other planets.
According to the official theory "we" would be the last link in a long chain of mutations, starting from mammals similar to current apes.
There are many philosophical and religious debates on the origins of Homo sapiens, such as the great difference in views between creationists and evolutionists, in any case in this article we will not dwell on this aspect, we will focus instead on specific distinctions which make Homo sapiens so different and "special" when compared with the previous hominids and also in general with all the other animals.
Higher intelligence is certainly the hallmark of our species, however it is difficult to explain the enormous evolutionary step forward that our ancestors made about 100,000 years ago, if we rely solely on Darwinian theory. Many have tried to explain this extraordinarily fast rate of evolution in the human lineage, up to the so-called ancient alien architects theory.
According to some researchers, in fact, the normal evolutionary process could never have allowed the rapid evolution that led to Homo sapiens; these scholars believe that it was other beings who came from other planets to genetically manipulate the DNA of Homo erectus to create a new race: our race.
How? Why? There are several explanations on the reasons that led these beings to carry out this operation on a large scale, as well as on the technologies used. According to some controversial theories they have combined the DNA of our ancestors with their DNA, in order to make men more intelligent and more long-lived, more "similar to them", in order to use them as a skilled workforce, capable of performing complex tasks, more efficiently.

It is interesting to note that many of the hypotheses presented by these scholars are based entirely or in part on the reading of ancient texts (including the Bible), which apparently, freed from any theological or philosophical meaning, could tell us much more about our origins.
