According to ancient beliefs there is an underground world called Agharta (or Agarthi) hidden from the human eye, still too limited to access it, inhabited by supernatural beings, knowledgeers of the Supreme Truth, untouched by evil, called the "Arhat" or “the enlightened”.
This secret realm described in the works of Willis George Emerson having headquarters in the deepest cavities of the Earth and extending below all the world is closely connected to the Hollow Earth theory.
At the end of the 17th century the British astronomer Sir Edmund Halley in his work “Philosophical transactions of Royal Society of London“ (1692) to try to give a rational explanation to some anomalous results obtained by the compass, processed the idea that the Earth was empty inside, formed by an outer shell 800 km thick, with in turn two other concentric inner shells and an inner core.
These shells would have been the size of the planets Venus, Mars and Mercury, and would be separated by atmosphere: each shell would have its own magnetic poles, and would rotate at different speeds.
Halley later theorized that the inner atmosphere was luminescent, that the inner continents were inhabited and that the gases escaping from the crossings at the poles were the cause of the Northern Lights: this theory known as “the Hollow Earth theory” had much hold on the people of the time, to the point of inspiring numerous fantastic-themed literary works, including “Journey to the center of the Earth” (1864) by the French writer Jules Verne.
Also in the modern age several scholars and researchers asked themselves the interesting question about the true nature of the terrestrial globe and the possibility that it may be hollow inside, or at least partially hollow, and inhabited.
Agartha would be right there, even if it is not completely detached from the rest of the world because it is said to be connected, through tunnels, to every corner of the globe, yet the entrances scattered a little everywhere are invisible and difficult to access, concealed by insurmountable protections, as claimed by the famous occultist Helena Blavatsky who called Agartha "the White Lodge".
The mysterious entrances of Agartha would also be found in Italy, one on the Bisentina island (Lake Bolsena) and the other on Mount Epomeo of Ischia, in Argentina at the Iguassù Falls, Brazil, California, at the North Pole, in the great Pyramid of Giza, in the surroundings of Mount Shasta in India, in Iceland and even on Easter Island where in addition to the famous Moai there are an extensive network of tunnels.
However, if someone were to find the entrance for Agartha and then exit he would not remember anything because this territory is protected from the negative influences of the surface by vibrations that have the ability to cloud the mind and cause amnesia.
Tradition tells of a vast subterranean world illuminated by a Sun similar to ours that makes life possible.
Agartha is ruled by the King of the world: a king who is priest and warrior too and reigns for the period of a Manvatara, one of the fourteen ages (ours is that of the White Boar) from which a cosmic cycle is composed.
Another attribute with which the King of the World is defined is Manu or "universal legislator, mediator between man and divinity": this term is found, in different forms, among all the ancient religions: "Mina " or "Menes " of the Egyptians, "Menw " of the Celts, "Minos" of the Greeks; in the qabbalah is the angel Metatron, in the Christian religion its correspondent is the Archangel Michael.
The King of the World is able to condition the thoughts of all the living and governs spiritually but also materially both the subterranean world and the surface world, assisted by two figures, the Mahatma that predicts things and the Mahagma that makes them come true by procuring the causes for the events to occur, constituting with them a great Triumvirate:
- Brahatma or the King of the World, who can speak directly to God
- Mahatma: able to know the future;
- Mahanga: capable of arranging situations in such a way that things come true.
The so-called Confederate Knights Templar, a society of knights priests, whose highest level is constituted by the Circular Council of the 12 Wise Men (the same number of Knights of the Round Table of King Arthur) depend directly on this Triad.
Under the kingdom’s capital would flow rivers of energy whose beneficial fluids could reach us through the Megaliths dislocated in various parts of our planet.
In addition, the properties of some numbers and certain symbols such as the Swastika come from the traditions linked to Agarthi: it is not by chance that Hitler, a fan of occultism, believed that the Nordic Peoples were repositories of ancient knowledge because they were the true and only heirs of this underground kingdom so, at the end of the Thirties he sent expeditions under the guidance of Heinrich Himmler without however finding any confirmation of the existence of Agartha.
The original book of the “Book of Dzyan”, the legendary text containing the fundamental history of the Origins of the Universe of which Helena Blavatsky would have viewed a copy would also be kept in one of the immense libraries of Agartha which would be endowed with an advanced technology far superior to ours and would preserve unique and exceptional objects such as the Holy Grail.
The language spoken in Agarthi is Vatannan, a sacred language.
The only human people born in Agarthi, who today would be inhabited exclusively by demigods, are the gypsies later kicked off for having committed something unpardonable and condemned to wander the world in search of the entrances to the subterranean kingdom whose memory they retain in the ability to predict the future and read the hand.
