Story of a ghost island.. or maybe not?
If you happen to consult the geographical maps until the first half of the nineteenth century, precisely until 1853, you would notice a small island called "Hy Brazil" also known as Brasil or Brazil, located in the north-west of Ireland, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Despite a certain assonance with the homonymous South American country, its name derives instead from the Gaelic "uì Breasail", which according to the interpretations, would designate the descendants of the Irish clan of Breasal or would be due to the dense island vegetation, characterized by the presence of tall Pernambuco wood trees, called "Brazilwoods" too.
Its existence, considered certain since the Middle Ages and represented as a small territory, circular in shape, crossed diametrically by a river, was questioned in the Victorian era, so much so that it was deleted from navigation maps and earned the reputation of phantom island and traced back to the Irish myths that describe it as cloaked in mist except for one day every seven years, when it becomes visible but still cannot be reached.
The first appearance of the island on a map created by Italian-Majorcan cartographer Angelino Dulcert (also known as Angelino de Dalorto) dates back to 1325 and its existence is also documented by San Barrind and St. Brendan who, during their travels , were struck by the richness of the place renamed "The Promised Land".
However, already in 1859, in the Atlantic Map of the famous editors of nautical tables James Imray & Son it had been degraded from "island" to "Brasil Rocks, higly doubtful" and later in 1873 thanks to the intervention of the British Admiralty the small island permanently disappeared from navigation maps.
In any case, there would be evidence relating to its real presence which contributed to fuel its mystery and the hypothesis that it was inhabited by an advanced civilization, including it among the candidates for the role of the lost Atlantis.
The famous navigator Pedro Alvares Cabral claimed to have found the legendary island during his voyage around 1500 and the Scottish captain John Nisbet, who arrived near the island in 1674, narrated that he had sent four of his crew to patrol the mainland and they would have reported having received precious metals as a gift.
Subsequently, a second ship, commanded by Alexander Johnson, was sent to the island and the second group of adventurers also fully confirmed Captain Nisbet's version.
The last documented sighting of Hy-Brasil dates back to 1872, when the archaeologist Thomas Johnson Westropp not only visited the island three times but also took his family there: in his records the scholar noted the singular ability of the island to disappear from view.
In 1980 Sergeant Jim Penniston saw a strange flying object land in the forest between the two twin bases of RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk (UK) and following a patrol with another soldier, saw a very intense orange glow coming from it (the well-known "Rendlesham Forest Incident").
According to his testimony, once he approached the black glassy triangular craft, he touched some strange pictoral glyphs etched onto the skin.
Jim's hand made physical contact with the strange glyphs on the craft and initiated a program in which he received binary code directly to his mind, telepathically, an experience after which both he and his companion fainted, awakening directly in the hospital of the military base.
Penniston transcribed the codes but kept them hidden for 30 years for fear of being considered crazy.
In 2010, thanks to the intervention of computer programmer Nick Ciske, the message was decoded by returning precise coordinates of an area outside of Western Ireland which curiously coincided with the alleged position of Hy-Brasil:
“Exploration of Humanity [the coordinates] Continuous for planetary advance”.
"+ 52 ° 09’ 42,532 "(N)
"-13 ° 13’ 12.69 "(W).
Skepticism vs Alternative theories
The search for this mythical island is still active: although according to the skeptics the alleged sightings of Hy Brazil can be rationally traced back to the morphology of the Irish coast, characterized by rocks that suddenly emerge from the waters and the shallow waters known as Porcupine Bank visible only under certain circumstances, and which could give sailors the illusion of actually being offshore from an island, there are many alternative theories.
Some identify Hy Brazil with the elusive world of the dead of Celtic traditions, others with the legendary Avalon.
Another hypothesis is that Hy-Brasil is the mythical Atlantis as the alleged position beyond the Pillars of Hercules would be compatible with Plato's writings.
In this regard, there is a further association of ideas: if this island were located in an adjacent dimensional layer and very close to ours and was visible and sightable only when certain and specific confluences between the lines that make up the grid are verified electromagnetic of planet earth?
The fog and the red color are common elements in the testimonies of those who claim to have visited Hy Brasil, and this last one in particular turns out to be one of the distinctive characteristics of the Atlantean civilization (as revealed by Charles Berlitz's "The Mystery of Atlantis") : the use of red ocher in household utensils and in the pigmentation of the soil, the fact that the Atlantean civilization was called "the Red Civilization" and the fact that red is also the color of the Martian civilization, of which according to some the Atlanteans would be the descendants, would seem to corroborate this thesis.
The fog, on the other hand, symbolizes the transit from one world to another, from a dimensional layer to another.
Admitting this, Atlantis would not really have sunk into the ocean but would have moved to another dimension, changing frequency, and while we densified vibrationally, the Atlanteans who already mastered the art of astral dreaming, would have elevated, ascending or passing on a different frequency level, again evoking the existence on our planet of dimensional portals that allow the intersection between contiguous and adjacent dimensional layers.
"For the last seven years the people of Bristol have equipped two, three [and] four caravels to go in search of the island of Brazil and the Seven Cities according to the fancy of this Genoese. The king made up his mind to send thither, because last year sure proof was brought they had found land."
