Over the years there are many conspiracy theories that have banks as protagonists. The reasons are easy to identify, just think of the enormous influence that these institutions have on the lives of all individuals, from the request for a loan to buy a car, up to the global consequences of the decisions made by those who manage them.
Some of the most frequent doubts about banks' activities are related to some important families, first of all those of the Rothschilds.
Who are the Rothschilds?
Apparently, the Rothschild family has had relationships with national banks since the early 1800s, starting with the trading of gold bars to get to the management of large-scale financial operations and direct financing of governments for great works and even for wars. The family has different branches in as many nations, with the common denominator of economic power and influence in the financial sector.
The importance of the family has obviously given rise to a great deal of more or less likely theories on the influence that this family has had and also has nowadays in the world economy, which would in fact have the possibility of dictating the line on many financial and political issues, while always remaining in the shadows.
The Rothschild coat of arms contains a clenched fist with five arrows (like the five dynasties started by the five sons of Mayer Rothschild) and the family motto is: Concordia, Integritas, Industria (Harmony, Integrity, Operosity).
Another subject often mentioned in various conspiracy theories is the so-called FED. The Federal Reserve System is the central bank of the United States and deals with managing financial issues of enormous importance, from monetary value to interest rates, up to the request to print new money, in order to preserve the stability of the entire financial system of the United States. The main doubts and fears of many citizens derive from the fact that it has never been clear enough to everyone who are the subjects that dictate the line of this institution. The name of the members of the board is known, however the interests that gravitate around the FED are such as to induce many citizens to doubt its real independence and transparency.
Many other examples could be given of the great power of financial institutions and the consequent perplexities of citizens, in any case the common trait is precisely this: in a society like the present one, who has control of the financial aspect also holds the greatest power: in fact, some banks (just think of Goldman Sachs) have such a ramification that their control is likely even on the world of the politics of nations, which is increasingly subject to the movement of capital.
In the eyes of many, such power certainly makes the widespread feeling of mistrust towards banks plausible.
"Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes it's laws"
-(quote attributed to) Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild
